正月初五，也叫“破五”，是我國的傳統節日，在這一天有很多講究和習俗，在《歲時瑣事》中記（jì）載說：“欲有所作為，必過此五日，始行之”，意思就是在（zài）春節期間有很多規矩和講究，不能亂說話，不能說不吉利的話，過了初五之後人們不必有這（zhè）些忌諱（huì）。
“破五”這一天，人們最在意的一件事情就是“送窮迎財”，即智窮、學窮、文窮、命窮、交窮，民間把這五窮（qióng）稱之為五窮鬼，大家會用不同的習俗將這五窮送走，比如在陝西韓城一（yī）帶，大家會炒麻豆，將豆子炒到劈裏啪啦作響，意思就時把壞的運氣“崩走”。當然除了（le）送窮之外，這5件事，破五一定不要忘。
一、迎財神（shén）
據（jù）說正月初五是財神的生日，從這一天淩晨開始，人們就開始相繼迎財神，普通人家會給（gěi）財神供上（shàng）水果，麵條（tiáo）或者餃子，在燒香求拜（bài），燃放鞭炮以此求得（dé）財運，而（ér）且給財神貢過的吃食，再讓家裏人吃，來年財（cái）運一定會旺。
財神即五路神。所謂五路，指東西南北中，意為出（chū）門（mén）五路，皆可（kě）得（dé）財。除了五路神之外，還有武財神，文財神等說法，但無論拜哪個財神，隻要心誠，皆能帶來財運。
二、吃餃子
俗話說“好吃不如餃子”，在中（zhōng）國大大小（xiǎo）小的節日裏，都離不開吃餃子，除了美味之外（wài），它已經是中華美（měi）食重要的（de）組成部分。從（cóng）初一到初五禁忌比較多，所以到了破（pò）五吃（chī）餃子，表示慶賀不在有禁忌了。另外還（hái）有人（rén）“包餃子，捏住小人嘴”的說法，意（yì）思就是來年小人少說壞話。
三、打（dǎ）掃房子
從除夕開始到（dào）正月（yuè）初四，通常是不會打掃房子的，尤其是掃地，老一輩人認為會（huì）把財運（yùn）掃走（zǒu），而到了破五這一天，就要由內到外把（bǎ）垃圾掃成一個堆，然後放上鞭炮，點然後劈裏啪啦，這樣不好的運氣都會一掃（sǎo）而光，剩下的便是財氣和福氣。
四、放鞭（biān）炮
正月初五這一天，家家戶戶都會燃放鞭炮，而且鞭炮越響越長，寓意就越好，代表著把窮運，以及各種不吉利都能轟去，有人還會燃放二踢腳，也叫“崩窮（qióng）”，把晦氣和窮氣統統都崩掉。有些（xiē）商戶在初五（wǔ）這一（yī）天也會正式營業，放一串鞭炮（pào），寓（yù）意今（jīn）天財源滾滾。
